Itasca Scrimmage

Yesterday was our annual week zero event hosted by Itasca Community College. We got the chance to try out our robot on the field elements and even play some matches against other teams! Our robot did better than any of us expected. Now we have two days left in build season and we still have stuff to do. But now we are really excited for our regional at the DECC!

It’s nearly done!

After 25 days of careful thought, planning, and building, our robot is steps away from being finished! The robot can nearly drive and will be ready to “POWER UP” very soon!

First Power Up

Today was the big day, kickoff. We loaded up into a bus at 7:30 am in the freezing cold and rode down to UMD. Before the game was revealed, there were a few speakers, including a Duluth East Daredevil Alumni. With all the anticipation in the crowd, the game was revealed: FIRST Power Up, which you can learn more about here. Back in Two Harbors, we have started to work on and think about the best way to score, and devised some plans for the season.26221259_949071701915781_4167125518671788257_o

Pre-Season Training at ICC!

Last weekend, 10 teams from the northeast Minnesota region attended a pre-season training event at Itasca Community College. We went as we have in previous years, and teams such as the Duluth East Daredevils, Denfeld DNA, Silver Bay Mariner Robotics, Deer River DROBA, and others were in attendance. Members of our teams attended seminars and discussions about topics such as coding in LabVIEW, using SolidWorks, spreading the message of FIRST, team leadership skills, and more to prepare us for the 2018 season. Thank you to Itasca Community College for holding the event, and we’re getting excited for the upcoming season! DSC_0835.JPGPhoto by Siiri and Lucas from the Duluth East Daredevils
